Your WhatsApp inbox, organised from Grok Bot.

Use Grok Bot to organise your WhatsApp inbox with WaliChat. It reviews your conversations, drafts replies and follow-ups, and prepares reminders. Nothing goes to a customer until you approve it.

How it works

A bot that works for you and your team.

Grok Bot is xAI's assistant app. The WaliChat template adds a bot to it that connects to your WaliChat account through WaliChat's MCP server, using an API key you create.

The bot reads your chats, labels and assigns them, and drafts messages. It asks before it sends anything, and its scheduled routines only prepare drafts.

Grok Bot is a separate app with its own subscription. It is not an auto-reply bot for your customers: it works for you and your team.

Before you start

  • The Grok Bot app on a supported Mac.
  • A paid Grok Bot plan that includes it.
  • A WaliChat account with your WhatsApp number connected.

Grok Bot's subscription is separate from WaliChat. Check the current requirements on the Grok Bot site (opens in a new tab)

Set it up

You work in two places: the Grok Bot app and your WaliChat account.

  1. Add the bot

Select Add WaliChat to Grok Bot. On the template page, select Add to Grok Bot or Open the app, check the template, then select Add Bot.

  2. Open the bot

Open the new WaliChat bot. Setup starts on its own. If it doesn't, send Start.

  3. Create a key

In WaliChat, open Developers → API keys and create a key just for Grok Bot. Keep that page open.

Open API keys in WaliChat (opens in a new tab)

Before you paste the key

The bot needs this key to reach your WaliChat account. When you paste it in the Grok Bot chat, the AI can see it, and it can stay in the conversation, the tool history and the connector settings. Only continue if you're fine with that. Use a key made only for Grok Bot, so you can delete it later.

  1. Paste the key

When the bot asks for the key, paste it in the bot's chat and approve the WaliChat connection.

  2. Finish the setup

Wait for the bot to confirm it is connected. If you have more than one WhatsApp number, pick the one it should manage. Then answer its questions about your business, language, tone, opening hours, timezone, team and how much it may do without asking.

  3. Preview your inbox

Ask for an inbox preview. Check the labels, notes and assignments it suggests before you apply them. Messages to customers always wait for your approval.

  4. Choose routines

Decide whether to turn on any routines. They start paused. Confirm your timezone and the times you want first.

Five things to ask your bot

Copy a request and paste it in the bot's chat. Each one says what you get back.

Sort the inbox

In WaliChat, review my WhatsApp conversations from the last 7 days. Group them into urgent requests, new leads, existing customers and resolved questions. Show the labels and teammate assignments you suggest before changing anything.

You get: a sorted preview of your inbox with suggested labels and owners.

Answer waiting customers

In WaliChat, find customers whose latest WhatsApp message still needs an answer. Put the ones waiting longest during my business hours first and draft a helpful reply for each. Use only my saved business information and ask me when a fact is missing. Show me the drafts before sending.

You get: a list of waiting customers, each with a reply draft to check.

Follow up with quiet leads

In WaliChat, find up to 10 leads who contacted us on WhatsApp but have gone quiet for at least 3 business days. Leave out anyone who asked us to stop. Draft a short, friendly follow-up from each conversation, and show me the drafts for approval.

You get: follow-up drafts that skip anyone who opted out.

Prepare appointment reminders

In WaliChat, review WhatsApp conversations for appointments tomorrow in my business timezone. Show the appointment times you found, ask me about anything unclear, and draft a reminder for each. Show the recipients, exact send times and message text. Wait for my approval before scheduling anything.

You get: a reminder plan with recipients, times and drafts. Nothing is scheduled until you approve it.

Get a weekly summary

In WaliChat, summarise my WhatsApp inbox for the last 7 days: the main customer questions, conversations still waiting, promising leads and next actions. Use the data you have, keep facts apart from suggestions, and tell me if a number I asked for isn't available.

You get: a weekly digest built from your real data, with no made-up figures.

Copying a request only copies text. It doesn't send anything or run anything in WhatsApp.

Routines, and how to stop the bot

Routines

The bot comes with four routines, all paused: a morning brief, reply drafts for waiting customers, evening follow-ups and a weekly report. Their times are only suggestions. You choose your timezone and which ones to turn on. Routines prepare drafts; they never send messages to customers on their own.

Stop or disconnect

To stop future routine runs, pause them in Grok Bot. To cut the bot's access to your WaliChat account, delete its key in Developers → API keys. Messages that are already scheduled stay scheduled: check them in WaliChat. Deleting the key or pausing a routine doesn't cancel them.

Troubleshooting

The app didn't open.

Open Grok Bot yourself, then open the template link again and choose Open the app. Download and plan details are on the Grok Bot site.

The key is refused.

Check it is a WaliChat key from this same account, that it is still active, and that you copied it without extra spaces or text. Never post a key in a support ticket, a screenshot or a public page.

The bot lists tools but says it isn't connected.

Seeing the tools doesn't mean it is signed in. Let the bot finish its connection check before you continue.

The preview is empty.

That can be right if no one wrote recently. Check which number the bot is using and the date range you asked for.

Questions before you connect.

Does the bot reply to my customers on its own?

No. It is not an auto-reply bot for your customers. It drafts messages and asks before it sends anything, and its routines only prepare drafts.

Is Grok Bot included in my WaliChat plan?

No. Grok Bot is xAI's app, with its own subscription that is separate from WaliChat. Check the current requirements on the Grok Bot site.

x.ai/bot
Can the AI see my API key?

Yes. When you paste the key in the Grok Bot chat, the AI can see it, and it can stay in the conversation, the tool history and the connector settings. Use a key made only for Grok Bot, so you can delete it later.

I have more than one WhatsApp number. Which one does it use?

The one you pick during setup. The bot asks once it is connected.

How do I cut the bot's access?

Delete its key in Developers → API keys. Messages that are already scheduled stay scheduled, so check them in WaliChat.

What happens outside the WhatsApp service window?

The official WhatsApp API keeps its rules. Outside the service window, use an approved template and follow the applicable messaging rules and charges.
