Comparing Wati

A Wati alternative, with the invoice in the open

Wati and WaliChat overlap heavily. This page goes on what a feature grid never shows: what a month adds up to, and what a move actually breaks.

The two-minute answer

If you only read one section

WaliChat is a WhatsApp platform: one per-number subscription carrying a multi-agent inbox, campaigns, a contacts CRM, no-code automation and the whole REST API. Measured against Wati the shared ground is wide, and admitting that costs us nothing. Four things send teams our way instead: a number can go live from a QR scan with no Meta application, the developer surface is a product rather than a footnote, WhatsApp is the entire product instead of one tab among several, and an agency can sell all of it under its own name.

  • Want the team answering by Thursday with no Meta application in the way? A QR-linked number takes minutes rather than weeks.
  • Building on the platform instead of living inside the inbox? Start at the API reference, the webhook list and the MCP server, not at two inbox screenshots.
  • Selling WhatsApp on to your own clients? Ask both vendors what their product looks like carrying your logo and your invoice.
  • Instagram and email carrying as much traffic as WhatsApp? That is a real reason to buy elsewhere, and it has its own section below with our name in the losing column.

One disclosure before the detail: this comparison is published by one of the two products in it. The Wati column is limited to what Wati says about itself, and every line about WaliChat is checkable inside the trial.

The arithmetic

Where those three figures come from

Naming the two invoices is easy, and most comparison pages stop there and point at a pricing page. This is the multiplication instead: the rate behind each figure, the quantity it was multiplied by, and underneath it the line that moves when the template category changes, plus the month that never gets billed at all.

A worked month on one WhatsApp number, subscription and Meta fees separated
What is being chargedRateHow manyThis month
WaliChat Professional, covering the inbox, apps, campaigns, CRM and API for 3 people answering$39.901 number$39.90
Utility templates you start, delivered to Spain, billed by Meta$0.02001,000$20.00
What leaves the account$59.90
$101.40the same month, if those 1,000 are marketing templates

Nothing moved on our side of the invoice. Meta's line roughly tripled because the category changed, and a marketing template costs the same through every provider on earth. That is why a single headline price tells you about the half a vendor controls and nothing about the half it does not.

$39.90the half a vendor actually sets

This is the only figure two platforms can honestly be compared on, so ask what each one contains. Here it buys the shared inbox, the agent apps, broadcast campaigns, the contacts database and API access. The Flows builder starts a tier up, on Business at $69.90 a month, which is better said here than discovered in week two.

Then put the question this table cannot settle for you to both vendors: does the amount Meta charges reach your bill untouched, or does a margin get added somewhere in between? Silence on that point while your card is still in your pocket is itself a reply, and it is the one to act on.

Our plan prices are read live from the same data /pricing renders, so this sum moves when the price does, and the figure is the same in euros or dollars exactly as it is there. Meta's Spain rates were read from the fee estimator on this site on 11 August 2026, from the schedule in force since January 2026, in the currency shown; Meta revises them, and every country carries its own.

The middle line counts only conversations you begin. A utility template sent within 24 hours of a customer writing to you is not billed, so a support-led month lands under this total rather than over it.

Shared ground

Four things that should decide nothing

  • The pipe to Meta is the same one. Delivery, the 24-hour window, template review and the per-message fees behave identically on either platform, and neither vendor gets to bend any of them.
  • Several agents work a single number on both sides, with the thread visible to everyone who needs it instead of stranded on one person's phone. It is the reason either product exists.
  • Both ship a visual builder for the replies nobody should have to type twice, meant to be edited by the team rather than filed as a developer ticket.
  • Both send template broadcasts to a segmented list that agreed to hear from you, report delivery per recipient, and put an AI answerer on the first turn before a person takes over.
Where they part

Four places the two genuinely diverge

Everything above is table stakes. These four are worth spending a trial on, because they are the ones you cannot cheaply change your mind about later.

Two doors onto WhatsApp

WaliChat runs numbers on Meta's official API, and numbers paired by scanning a linked-device code in the WhatsApp Business app. Nothing queues behind that second door, which is how a team starts replying the same day, and a number that moves to the API later stays on the same platform.

One line on the subscription

A plan is priced against a WhatsApp number and carries the inbox, the phone apps, broadcast campaigns, the contact database and every API endpoint. Separately from that, Meta charges its own fees, exactly as it does through every provider. That second invoice is why this page prints the fees instead of waving at them.

Something to build on

A REST API with ready-made samples in the languages your team already writes, a webhook for every inbound event, a tester that runs inside the docs, Zapier, Make and n8n for everything you would rather not code, and an MCP server so an AI assistant can work the account itself. The inbox settles year one. This settles year two.

Sold under your own name

Agencies and consultancies can run WaliChat as their own product: the interface, the address bar and the customer relationship all belong to you, and the client never meets our brand. Put it to every vendor on the shortlist early, because it almost never appears on a feature page.

Nineteen rows

The whole comparison, in one grid

The Wati column holds three kinds of answer: "Yes" where a capability is advertised on their public pages, their own wording where they publish the detail, and "Not advertised" where we could not find it described. Read that third answer as a question to put to their sales team, never as evidence of a gap. Both columns were checked on 11 August 2026, and since products change weekly, ours deserves at least as hard an audit as theirs.

The technical half

If anyone on your team writes code

Comparing two inboxes decides this year. The year after that is almost always an integration: the CRM, the shop, or the internal tool that ought to be sending its own messages. That is where a platform either keeps up or quietly gets worked around. Ours also lets an AI agent call your systems mid-conversation and answer with the real result instead of a description of one.

Both trials

Four things to try before you decide

Feature lists agree with everybody. These four put a real difference on screen inside an hour, and none of them needs a developer. Run the same four on both platforms in the same week, and you will learn more than any table on this page can tell you, ours included.

Open the same chat as three people at once.
Everyone can see who is already typing, and the customer gets one answer instead of three.
Get a template rejected on purpose.
Meta's reason appears on screen, and you can edit and resubmit it without opening a support ticket.
Point a webhook at your own endpoint, then message the number.
The event lands within seconds, shaped the way the documentation promised.
Ask the AI agent something nobody taught it.
It admits the gap and hands the chat over, rather than inventing something confident.
Switching

Moving across, losses included

A WhatsApp number changes provider routinely. What surprises people is which parts refuse to travel with it.

  1. Minutes

    Put the number on

Either the number your customers have been writing to for years, or a fresh one. A QR-linked number is taking messages within the hour; an API number moves at Meta's pace rather than ours.

  2. Day one

    Bring the contact list

Upload contacts and their labels in bulk. Afterwards each conversation creates or updates its own contact record, so nobody is keeping a second list by hand.

  3. An afternoon

Rebuild the automations that earn their keep

Flows, canned answers and routing live as settings rather than as records, so they are re-created rather than moved. Re-create the ten that matter, not the ninety somebody made once.

  4. Cut-over

    Repoint the integrations last

Keep the old endpoint answering until the new number is sending. Nothing throws an error when there is a gap; inbound messages simply vanish while every dashboard looks healthy.

Two things survive no move between providers, ours included: approved templates sit with the WhatsApp Business Account and usually face Meta's review a second time, and the conversation archive inside your current platform stays inside it. Pull the exports your books need while you still have an account there.

Honest fit

When WaliChat is the wrong answer

There are teams this platform does not serve well. It is cheaper for everybody if that surfaces on this page instead of in week three.

Pick WaliChat when…

  • WhatsApp is where the business actually happens, and depth there beats breadth elsewhere.
  • Several people answer one number and somebody has to see all of it in one place.
  • Replies have to start going out this week, whether or not an API application is in flight.
  • An integration is coming, and you would rather not shop for a new platform when it arrives.
  • You sell WhatsApp on, and what the client sees has to be your business rather than a supplier's.

Pick something else when…

  • Instagram, Messenger or email carry as much traffic as WhatsApp, in which case a platform built for several networks fits the job better.
  • The team already works out of a helpdesk, and the only missing piece is WhatsApp arriving inside it.
  • A single person answers every message, and nothing about the free WhatsApp Business app is in the way yet.
  • You send a single notification type at enormous volume and want nothing built around it, which makes raw API access the cheaper shape.
FAQ

The questions buyers send us about Wati

We are on Wati today. What actually breaks if we move?

The number travels; the furniture around it does not. Approved templates are the property of the WhatsApp Business Account rather than of any platform, so they normally face Meta's review again; flows and saved replies are configuration and get rebuilt; and conversation history held in another vendor's database stays with that vendor. Budget an afternoon for the rebuild, and export your records before the cut-over rather than after it.

What does a month cost once both halves are counted?

The subscription plus Meta. The arithmetic near the top of this page works one month through in full: an entry plan on a single number, a thousand template messages to one country, and the total underneath. Your own country and message mix move Meta's half considerably, so put your volumes through the fee estimator before you budget anything.

Can we go live without waiting on Meta's approval?

Yes. You pair the number the way the WhatsApp Business app pairs a linked device: scan a code and it is on. That route keeps the chats already on the number and has no application behind it. The official API is the other route, and it is the one carrying WhatsApp calling. A team can begin on one and switch to the other without leaving the platform.

Does the chat history come across with the number?

Whatever lives on the phone arrives with the number when you connect it. A conversation archive held inside another platform's database generally does not travel, and the same is true in either direction, between any pair of vendors. Export it first if your records need it.

Where would a multi-network platform beat WaliChat?

Anywhere Instagram, Messenger or email carry real volume. WaliChat is deliberately one network taken far, so a team fielding three busy ones is better served by a product built for three. We would rather write that here than have you find it in week three.

Can an agency sell WaliChat under its own brand?

Yes. The reseller programme hands you the whole thing: your brand inside the interface, your own address bar, your invoice reaching the client. Our name appears nowhere in front of them.
